Okay on this blog most of the stuff I review comes from items I’ve ordered online so in addition to my experience, photos and observations with and of the product you will often see a packaging and shipping rating that will indicate how well the item was packaged, if it arrived on time, etc.
For this Item I’d have to give the shipping and packaging a 5 out of 5 - It arrived on time and packaged perfectly for what the item was. The plastic bottle was free of dents and leaks. So major Kudos to Aqua Elegante for the thought they put toward packaging and shipping!
First thing I noticed after removing the plastic safety and freshness ring and opening up the pump bottle was that a little bit of the product spilled out around the neck. That’s nothing major so after wiping that away I unscrewed the pump cap and smelled the contents. Wonderfully pleasant and fresh is how I’d describe the scent but that was to be expected from a product that has several natural oils in it. More importantly, the smell was not overwhelming as it very well could have been and to be honest that was my concern.
Before we dive into the meat and potatoes of this review let me tell you about my skin. The skin on my face has always been exceedingly oily since puberty and I’m over 40 years old. This goes beyond T-Zone oiliness - what I have is all zone oiliness with the exception of the tiny patch between my eyebrows and the little thumb pad sized dot of flesh under my bottom lip… outside of that you could fry chicken on my face at any given time.
I’ve been on a long quest to find something that works and works well for the majority of the day without overly stripping my face of moisture to the point of my skin feeling so tight it hurts to smile.
Now that you know what this face wash is up against let's roll!
This product has simple clear instructions that state to shake bottle gently then apply a small amount to a damp face and massage in gentle circular motions until it lathers. Simple enough and all went off without a hitch but I feel I must make mention of the fact that when close to the eyes this product does make itself known. It did not cause my eyes to burn but there was a definite tingle that let me know that I in no way, shape or form wanted to get this in my eyes.
After massaging this into my face for a good minute or so I rinsed with warm water and blotted my face dry with a towel. Once my face was completely dry it was oil free and smooth to the touch without feeling super taught.
1 hour after washing my face with this product my skin still appears oil and shine free and looks freshly washed.
4.5 hours later still looking nice and matte and shine free outside of a little oil showing up on my nose.
6.5 hours later a little more shine on my nose (my most troublesome oily spot) but nothing too noticable.
24 hours later (with no touch ups or blotting) my face still looks mostly matte and fresh!
All in all I’m extremely satisfied with this facial wash and I’m looking forward to using it on a daily basis. For the price tag of $19.95 I think I’d be happy paying that for as long as it looks like this will last me (2 months or more) and for the results it has given me.
Overall this product gets 5 out of 5 Stars from me with no cons to speak of.
